 The cost of pressure washing depends on the size and condition of the area, the surface material, access and whether additional treatments or re-sanding are required. Incorrect equipment, excessive pressure or unsuitable techniques can damage paving, mortar joints and delicate surfaces. We inspect the surface before cleaning and adjust the pressure, equipment and cleaning method accordingly. More delicate materials may require reduced pressure or specialist treatments. 

Black lichen spots can usually be significantly reduced using specialist treatments alongside professional cleaning. The final result depends on the condition, age and porosity of the sandstone. We always balance stain removal with protecting the paving from unnecessary damage. 

Yes. Pressure washing often removes jointing sand from block paving. Once the surface is clean and sufficiently dry, kiln-dried sand can be brushed back into the joints to help stabilise the blocks and reduce movement. 

Soft washing uses specialist cleaning products and controlled low-pressure application to remove algae, organic growth and staining. It is generally used on more delicate surfaces such as render, cladding and painted areas where aggressive pressure washing could cause damage. 

High-pressure washing is generally unsuitable for render because it can erode the surface, remove paint, expose cracks or force water into the wall. Professional render cleaning normally uses low-pressure soft washing and appropriate cleaning products. 

 Red and green staining is usually caused by algae and other organic growth developing on damp or shaded surfaces. North-facing walls, nearby trees and poor drying conditions can increase growth. Professional soft washing treats the contamination rather than simply blasting the surface. 

Gutter-cleaning prices depend on the property size, height, access, gutter condition and the amount of debris present. Hyperwash provides free quotations and uses professional gutter-vacuum and inspection equipment where appropriate. 

In many cases, yes. We use a high-reach gutter-vacuum system that allows debris to be removed safely from ground level. An inspection camera can also be used to check the gutters and provide before-and-after evidence.
